Katie Malley 
Trainer | Consultant | Coach 

Katie’s passion for developing professionals so that they can support children and their families comes from a desire to ensure all children and vulnerable adults are safe from harm and have well trained, confident staff to go to for support. This desire led Katie to develop her own training and consultancy business, which enables her to work with a larger number of professionals that go on to support more children.

With 16 years’ experience in safeguarding, mental health and direct work with children and their families, Katie’s main passion is ensuring children get the best in education and care. Up until December 2020, Katie was the Assistant Principal of a large primary school, working directly with children, families and professionals. Katie’s experience leading on all aspects of safeguarding, wellbeing, behaviour and school attendance has allowed her to develop a comprehensive understanding of what children and families need and what schools can do to ensure the best outcomes.

 

As an NSPCC Associate and Accredited Safer Recruitment Trainer, Katie has a wide range of training skills and knowledge to support any organisation. A qualified Trauma Informed Practitioner and Senior Trainer with Trauma Informed Schools UK, Katie has a wealth of experience in trauma informed practice and safeguarding which enables her to support organisations to develop a culture of safety and support for all. With this in mind, Katie qualified as a 200hr Certified Yoga Teach and Meditation Teacher so she could share the benefits Yoga can have on wellbeing. As part of her wellbeing work, Katie is also a Massage In School Programme (MISP) Instructor, which allows her to train schools to facilitate MISP for their children. Katie is also an Associate Trainer for Interface Enterprises Ltd.

One of Katie’s strengths is around establishing clear and effective systems that support both children and the adults working closely with them. Katie’s professional background in education and senior leadership has meant that she has provided leadership to a diverse and multi-disciplinary team, this then led her to becoming a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE)Katie is also an NLP Practitioner and an Association for Coaching member Coach

Katie has also developed training for other schools, Local Authorities and private providers of nursery provision.  Her training is precise with a clear understanding of her audience’s needs and learning objectives. Katie believes strongly that all opportunities for learning should be planned and delivered to the highest standard. As a facilitator of the Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent for the Home Office, Katie is experienced in delivering training to a wide range of professionals from different backgrounds.

A firm believer in reflective practice and supervision, Katie trained with the NSPCC to develop a school wide approach to supervision to ensure her team and their practice were both safe and effective. Since then, Katie has also trained with Trauma Informed Schools to deliver their reflective group supervision model, as well as APT and is now an accredited Clinical Supervisor

Katie is also a CEOP Ambassador and a Professional Champion and Associate Trainer for the charity Parents Against Child Exploitation (PACE). Additionally, Katie was the Chair of Governors for a local primary school where she enjoyed the challenges and rewards this role presented.
